One-on-One Estrangement Coaching for Parents
One-on-one coaching — $995 for a 45-minute Zoom session.
A focused, one-on-one session
For most parents, one to two sessions are enough for Dr. Coleman to assess the situation and recommend a strategy. He'll ask about your child's history, your own background, and the specific dynamics at play — then help you decide what to try next.
If your child is willing, he can also meet with the two of you together, or reach out to them directly by email with your permission, when that seems like the right next step.
Some of what we'll be considering
What challenges came up raising your child — divorce, parental alienation, substance use, learning disabilities, or mental health issues on either side
Whether your child was adopted, and if so, whether they've reunited with a birth parent
How much a son-in-law or daughter-in-law factors into the estrangement, and the history of that relationship
What attempts you've already made to reach out, and any recent correspondence or amends letters you can share
Your own childhood, your marriage or divorce, and your current relationship with your child's other parent
Other people involved in the estrangement — siblings, grandparents, friends, or other children

For most parents, 1–2 sessions are enough for him to assess the problem and recommend strategies. The fee is $995 per session.
Yes, if they're willing — though his schedule usually only allows for 1–3 sessions, not ongoing ones.
Typically no, unless it requires reviewing emails, legal documents, or lengthy correspondence — in which case time is pro-rated at $995 per 45 minutes.
With their permission, yes, usually by email, if he believes it's in your best interest. There's no extra charge for the outreach itself, though a follow-up session with your child is billed at the standard $995 rate.
Roughly 60% write back. Of that group, about 20% say they're not interested, another 20% respond at length but aren't open to more, and the remaining 60% are willing to get on the phone — often leading to a few family sessions or a referral, though it can't be guaranteed.
